General Criteria and Scoring
Treasured
Web Awards, will evaluate each website by reviewing its Content, Design,
Navigation, and Overall Appeal. Points may be
gained or lost depending on how well the website has met with the listed
criteria for each of these areas. 100 total points may be earned by
receiving all of the points in each of the four (4) categories, plus there
is a possibility of earning 3 Bonus Points which could help you
make up for points lost in other areas.

Content (Possible
Points: 50)
This
is the area where you can earn the largest amount of points. Content is
such an important part of your website. If your content
isn't appealing to your visitors, they won't be returning to your
site.

Your site should have at least 7 quality pages *
Music should have a visible means of cut-off *
Animations should show relevance to your subject *
Always give your visitors a way to contact you

You should make certain that your spelling and grammar
have been checked *
If you collect information from your visitors, you should
have a privacy policy and should be in compliance with COPPA
(Children's Online Privacy Act) *
Do you give anything to your visitors? *
You
should show originality in your content * |

Design (Possible
Points: 20)
Your
design is what your visitors see upon entering the site and is
what their first impression is most often based on.

Background and font colors should compliment each other
and be easy to read *
Font sizes should be consistent *
Text and images should compliment each other and be
related to your theme *
Site should load reasonably fast and graphics should not
be over-optimized *

You should make good use of white space but should never
horizontal scroll (800x600) *
All
of your graphics should load *
Don't
take control of our computer, leaving us without our task

Navigation (Possible
Points: 20)
Your
navigation is where visitors sometimes become frustrated and leave
your site, because they can't find their way around.

impacted by the elements of your site, by its first
impression and during their review, that gut feeling they
have which will cause them to sit back and say
"WOW" ... or ... "OUCH". Judges
have the discretion of awarding points based on the
impression your sites makes upon them * |

Points: 3)
This is your
opportunity to make up points that you may have lost in other areas.
